WordPress 2.6.3 which was released few days ago, is a patch to 2 security vulnerabilities that inlcude Snoopy, a library used internally by WordPress. WordPress users all strongly recommended to upgrade to the latest WordPress version to ensure they don't fell prey to these vulnerabilities.

You don't have to upgrade every single file in the latest version if you already using WordPress 2.6.2, suffice to replace the following two files.

  1. wp-includes/class-snoopy.php
  2. wp-includes/version.php

Whichever method you choose to use for the upgrade, do keep your WordPress installation up-to-date to avoid potential problems and hacking attempts.
