Sn0wbreeze 1.6 to Jailbreak iPod Touch 2G 4.0 OS is Coming

For those who are new with the iPhone/iPod's world, PwnageTool is the jailbreaking tool developed by iPhone dev team and only works on Mac environment. It's counterpart for Windows environment is the Sn0wbreeze, developed by ih8snow. Both allows iPhone and iPod Touch users their devices. When Sn0wbreeze made its debut, it was able to jailbreak iPhone OS 3.1.2 on iPhone 3GS and 3G & iPod Touch 3G and 2G.

iPhone OS 4.0 is expected to be announced at WWDC 2010 and iH8sn0w is working hard to put every missing pieces together to ensure his renowned sn0wbreeze 1.6 is fully functional for iPhone OS 4.0 jailbreaking. Anyway, here is the first teaser screenshot of the upcoming sn0wbreeze 1.6.

Sn0wbreeze will jailbreak iPhone OS 4.0 on iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G as well as iPod Touch 4.0 OS. As this article is written, no release date is announced.

Download iPhone OS 4.0 beta 2

Apple has recently released its next generation of operating system, the iPhone OS 4.0 beta 2. This beta version is available for download for developers and those eligible and is currently available at Apple’s Developers site. They have just updated the iPhone OS 4.0 to beta 2 and the iPhone 4.0 SDK to beta 2.

Some of well known iPhone hackers have successfully jailbroken the first beta and the most renowned hacker group as far as iPhone is concerned, the Dev Team has released a beta jailbreak for iPhone OS 4.0. Their latest release, the redsn0w 0.9.5 BETA, however only supports the iPhone 3G and only available for Mac OSX. The same pwnage2 DFU-mode exploit is used and there is nothing yet about a jailbreak for beta 2.

As far as this article is concerned, the latest beta is only meant for registered developers. A properly-registered developer UDID is needed to allow you to activate any iPhone beta. As this article is wrtitten, no new features was reported. Stay tuned for all upcoming news on iPhone OS 4.0, we will keep you posted.

Download iTunes 9.1 with iPad Sync for Mac & Windows

The much-awaited release of iTunes 9.1, is finally out and is available for download at the Apple website. There are several new features in iTunes 9.1, one that has drawn most attention is the support to sync with the iPad. There is also Books section that will replace the Audiobooks section in the iTunes Store. More features are as follows:

'Audiobooks' section will now be 'Books' and contain all Book content: audio, eBook, etc. compatible with the given device (iPod, iPhone, iPad).
Support to automatically [syc] update songs to 128-bit AAC – like the Shuffle currently does – to save space.
Genius Mixes will include songs that go great together, "users will have more control over Genius Mixes, including the ability to rename mixes and rearrange them by dragging. Users will also be able to delete Genius Mixes by right clicking on them. Genius Mixes will also reportedly be available as sources for the iTunes DJ shuffle feature."
It will have tweaked summary panes (including a move of the "Check for Update" and "Restore" buttons to the left side of the pane)

Apple iPad Steps into the Spotlight

When introducing the iPad, the founder of Apple company, Steve Jobs positions the device as something between a laptop and a phone; portable but still packs enough to handle full-fledged web browsing and allow users to enjoy music, games and video. Many believe this device is merely a netbook. As a matter of fact this is not really the case; it is not a netbook that offers slow processors, limited capabilities and small low-quality displays.

Physically, this capacitive multi-touch device that supports gestures (like swiping & pinching) weighs 1.5 pounds and measures just 1/2 inch thick, and features a 1,024 by 768-pixel high-quality 9.7-inch display with a wide viewing angle. Inside of the iPad is the most advanced chip they’ve ever produced; the 1 GHz A4 CPU from Apple itself. The device will support both Bluetooth 2.1 and 802.11a/b/gn Wi-Fi wireless networking and will be equipped with 16, 32, or 64 GB of flash-based storage. Other accessories on board include a microphone & speaker, (accelerometer for detecting bumps, shakes, and tilts), integrated compass as well as a 3 pins connector. Apple also claims that the iPad will be able to run for as long as 10 hours only a single battery charge and the device will have a standby time of up to a month.

iPad accessories are also planned to be shipped. The most interesting one to iPad power users wannabe will be most likely a dock with a keyboard. This powerful accessories enable users to prop up the iPad like a screen and do some serious text input and data entry. If the market for iPhone and iPod accessories is any indication, third party accessory makers will have their own iPad add-ons ready to go by the time the iPad hits the streets.

Next Generation MacBooks Announced
